The listed conditions primarily include adult brain disorders, several rare children’s disorders, and certain cancers. The Compassionate Allowances Conditions new additions help reduce waiting time for a disability determination for those with the most serious disabilities.
The list includes several types of cancers and neurodegenerative disorders. Different conditions are sometimes appended based on input from the medical and scientific communities. Members of the public are also permitted to suggest conditions to be added. All of the conditions are very serious and difficult to live with, and many are considered to be terminal.

Medical records are required when someone applies for Social Security disability benefits. The records are needed to make an accurate determination of the disease, its extent, treatment, how it affects the applicant’s life, and so forth.
Social Security uses e-medical records to assist in processing applications quickly. Thanks to being online, the agency can assess a claimant’s medical information, resulting in quicker decisions. An application could even be approved in as little as seven days or a few months.
